Experience design is not a matter of taste: it is a discipline of enquiry. You watch people use something, spot where they hesitate, change it, watch again. This programme teaches that loop before it teaches the tools, because a designer who masters the tool without the method produces pleasing screens that fail in production. It also addresses local constraints — weak connections, entry-level handsets, varying literacy — that render most imported mock-ups unusable.

Learning objectives

  • Run user research and turn it into design decisions
  • Design a journey that holds on an entry-level handset
  • Build and maintain a reusable component system
  • Make an interface usable by a person with a disability

Real prerequisite

What follows is assumed and will not be explained again. If most of it is foreign to you, this is not the right entry point — better to know now than at the final assessment.

No prerequisite in drawing or programming. Curiosity about how people go wrong using a tool is far more useful.

Entry requirements

  • Secondary school qualification, or experience in digital creation
  • Presentation of personal work, in any medium
  • Motivation interview
