The tutor in action
A parent's first question is always the same: « will it do the homework for them? ». Rather than answer with a promise, here is an exchange as it unfolds when a pupil asks for the answer.

I'm stuck on exercise 4. Can you give me the answer?
- Tutor
I'm not going to — you wouldn't remember it on Thursday. Tell me instead: in the question, what exactly are we looking for?

The perimeter of the field, I think.

Good. And is perimeter the distance around, or the area? Take ten seconds before answering.

The distance around. Oh… so I don't need to multiply.

What is probably holding you back
Will I be surveilling everything?
No, deliberately. You see progress and difficulties, never your child's exchanges with the tutor or their failed attempts. A permanently watched pupil stops daring to be wrong, and so stops learning.
Will the tutor do the homework for them?
Never. It rephrases, gives an example, asks a question that moves things forward. It refuses to hand over an exercise answer, including under pressure — otherwise the pupil mainly learns that pressure works.
What if we have no computer?
Everything works on a phone, and lessons download to read offline. That is a design constraint: most of the families concerned have no computer, and a product assuming one excludes them.
What results can we expect?
We publish no progress figures: no cohort has been measured, and inventing a statistic aimed at parents would be indefensible. What we do state is checkable within weeks: you will know what your child is stuck on, by name.
