After the baccalauréat the routes open at IHETC

Passing the exam opens several calendars: long programmes, professional certificates, short courses. Each has its duration, its pace and what it awards. Here is the table, in plain terms.

Four calendars, four commitments

The choice is made first on the time you can commit and on what you want at the end. A long programme builds a broad foundation over several years; a professional certificate targets a named role and can be taken without leaving a job; a short course installs a precise skill in a few weeks. All three accumulate over time, and one choice closes none of the others.

RouteWhat it requiresWhat it awards
Bachelor's degreeThree years of regular work, remote or on siteBachelor's degree
Master's degreeTwo further years, after the first programmeMaster's degree
Professional certificationA few months, compatible with a jobProfessional certificate
Short courseA few weeks on one named skillCourse attendance certificate

What is prepared during the exam year

  • The real entry level in the subjects of the intended programme
  • The weekly working pace the route assumes
  • The application documents, gathered before the exam period
  • A consolidation plan for the weeks following the paper

The weeks that follow the paper

They are the best window of the year for consolidating two or three topics: no syllabus competes for the time, and the entry level of the intended programme is known. A student arriving for their first term with those topics holding keeps pace from the first weeks, which often decides the whole year. The tutor names those topics and sets a short plan, aligned to the real start date.

Families' questions

Can we start with a short course?

Yes, and it is a common starting point: a named skill installs in a few weeks, serves immediately and gives an accurate sense of a programme's pace. The full catalogue, with durations, paces and fees, is published on the institute's site.

Does the tracking continue after the exam?

The subscription stays active as long as you wish, and it is cancelled in one step from the parent space. Many families keep it through the consolidation weeks that follow the paper, then stop it: that is an anticipated use, and it requires no special formalities.
